Reporting Vaccine Transfers
To minimize waste, providers might need to transfer vaccines to another active program provider during emergencies or if vaccines will expire within six months and are likely expire before administration. Vaccine transfer can be minimized by consistent inventory management.
About Transfers
- Providers who transfer doses into or out of inventory must account for those doses on their next vaccine order to avoid inventory discrepancies that delay order processing.
- Follow proper vaccine packaging and temperature monitoring while transporting vaccines to another active program provider.
- Do not transfer vaccines exposed to multiple temperature excursions.
- Do not transfer punctured multi-dose vials.
- Do not transfer publicly supplied vaccines to non-program providers or any locations that don’t have CDPH-compliant storage units and temperature monitoring devices.
How to Transfer
