Reporting Doses Administered in CAIR
Report private and public doses administered in the California Immunization Registry (CAIR) or Healthy Futures/RIDE, preferably the same day as administration but no later than 14 days and prior to submission of vaccine orders. Refer to AB 1797 FAQs for details.

| Data Element | Guidance |
| IIS ID/Org Code | Unique PIN named IIS ID (myCAvax & RIDE) or Org Code (CAIR) |
| Lot number | Documented in patient chart during administration |
| NDC | Identifies product administered, packaging & manufacturer/distributor (see CDC guidance) |
| Vaccine funding source | Identifies stock as VFC or non-VFC (e.g., private funds) |

Reporting Options
Providers may report doses administered to the local registry using their EHR with data exchange, My Turn’s CAIR Quick Entry, or My Turn Clinic as implemented during enrollment.
Providers should have a backup system when conducting off-site clinics or any time the reporting system is not accessible. Providers may use vaccine usage logs (PDF) to collect administration data for later entry into the immunization registry.
Data Exchange Reporting Codes
If using an EHR with data exchange to report doses to CAIR, ensure vaccine funding and eligibility codes are sent in the appropriate OBX segments for private and public doses. Refer to CAIR’s Data Exchange (cdph.ca.gov).
On Vaccine Orders
Providers must report doses administered and doses on hand on each vaccine order. Doses administered should match quantities reported to the local registry. Accountability data is verified by CDPH, and vaccine orders will not be approved until all doses are accounted for and any inventory discrepancies resolved.
How to Report
Follow guidance in Guide to Ensure Accurate CAIR Reporting (PDF) to report doses administered to the regional registry.
